An enchanting evening of owl-inspired art, live music, delicious food, good company and conservation. Every ticket purchased directly supports the rescue, rehabilitation and conservation of birds of prey in the Garden Route.
4:30 pm – Guided tour & flight demonstration
Experience our highly acclaimed guided tour and meet our ambassador birds of prey during a spectacular flying demonstration.
5:30 PM – Welcome drink and reception
Discover the Night of 1000 Owls Art Exhibition, celebrating owl-inspired creations from local schools, artists and the community. Open from 27 October and concluding with the Bitou Birding Festival. Includes a complimentary welcome drink and canapés.
6:15 PM – The Secret lives of owls
An engaging presentation exploring the owls of the Garden Route. Hear fascinating rehabilitation stories, discover the secret lives of these nocturnal hunters, and learn to recognise their calls before the silent evening walk.
6:45 PM – Braai under the stars
Tuck into our gourmet braai plate, featuring a lamb chop, boerewors and flame-grilled chicken drumstick, served with three fresh homemade salads and warm garlic bread. Relax, enjoy the live music and soak up the outdoor atmosphere.
7:45 PM – Into the night with the nocturnal creatures
Experience the centre in silence as night falls, listening for the calls of our resident owls and wild nocturnal visitors. A peaceful guided walk into the hidden world that comes alive after dark.
By attending this special event, you’ll be directly supporting the vital work of Raptor Rescue. 100% of the ticket proceeds go towards the rescue and rehabilitation of raptors across the Garden Route. Laura Fotheringham
Laura Fotheringham is a nature enthusiast and animal lover at heart. Her passion for conservation and education have drawn her toward wildlife rehabilitation and she has volunteered at a number of centres across South Africa. She has a background in design and marketing as well as experience working in the tourism industry.
Mark Robson
Mark Robson has been actively involved in the rehabilitation and care of birds of prey at the Heath for the past 6 years. He gained his experience whilst working with his brother at Radical Raptors. He is no stranger to the great outdoors and has a background in forestry as well as extensive experience in the hospitality industry. The passion with which he conducts his guided tours reflects his love and dedication toward the birds in his care.
