Join us for a guided Keurbooms River Birding Cruise
29 & 31 OCT – Keurbooms Ferries Jetty
Explore the forested banks of the Keurbooms River by boat
Join us for a peaceful early morning birding cruise with Keurbooms River Ferries, exploring one of the most scenic and species-rich waterways in the region. This slow, guided journey up the Keurbooms River offers a unique opportunity to spot forest and riverine birds from the comfort of a classic river barge.
Keep your eyes (and ears) peeled for special sightings such as the elusive African Finfoot, the vibrant Knysna Turaco, the striking Narina Trogon, and the melodic Chorister Robin-Chat, along with White-breasted Cormorants, kingfishers, herons, and more.
The cruise continues upstream to the tranquil Whiskey Creek picnic site. Here, we’ll disembark for a short, gentle walk beneath the canopy of the indigenous forest, where more birdlife awaits. Guests will then enjoy a cup of tea/coffee and a light snack before making the return journey downriver.
Whether you’re a seasoned birder or simply enjoy being out in nature, this is a truly special way to experience the river’s serene beauty and abundant birdlife.
